Dr. Katie Wheel graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Vermont with a Bachelor of Science degree in animal science prior to attending Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine. While at Tufts, she earned several academic excellence awards and was admitted to the prestigious Phi Zeta veterinary honor society. After earning her veterinary doctorate in 2006, Dr. Wheel completed extensive training and national certification in canine physical rehabilitation through the University of Tennessee. She worked as a general small animal practitioner in Laconia, NH, Lebanon, NH, and Montpelier, VT, before joining the VCA Brown Animal Hospital team in the spring of 2011. She also serves as a physical rehabilitation specialist with a strong interest in pain management.

Dr. Wheel, her husband, and children share their home with three adorable yet mischievous cats, Turkey, Canoe, and Schooner. During her free time, Dr. Wheel enjoys virtually any outdoor sport imaginable...top picks include hiking, biking, skiing, kayaking, camping, and tennis. She can frequently be found working in her gardens or trying out new recipes in the kitchen!
