Christine Calvert, Medical Director
Dr. Calvert is a native of Pasadena and is a graduate of Chesapeake Senior High School. After earning her Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry from Virginia Tech she stayed in Blacksburg to earn a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the Virginia Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation, she practiced veterinary medicine in Anne Arundel County for several years before opening VCA Calvert Veterinary Center in Pasadena, MD in 2004.
Dr. Calvert enjoys all areas of veterinary medicine including dermatology, feline medicine, greyhounds, rabbits, and other exotic companion mammals. She also has a passion for laser surgery and has over 20 years of experience with this special tool. Her family of pets includes Magothy, a King Charles Cavalier Spaniel and Bomber, a ball python.
Dr. Calvert is a member of the American Association of Feline Practitioners, the American Institute of Medical Laser Applications, and American Veterinary Medical Association. She is also a member and serves on the Legislative committee with the Maryland Veterinary Medical Association (MDMVA). She is a board member with the Pasadena Business Association and is the Legislative Committee Chairperson.
In order to continually learn the latest medical information, Dr. Calvert attends at least one major continuing education meeting each year in addition to attending multiple local learning opportunities. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and watching sporting events as well as doing anything outdoors including hiking, paddle boarding, boating, or roller blading.
