Dr. Walsh grew up in Franklin, Massachusetts, and has always had a passion for animals her entire life. Growing up, she had all sorts of animals, ranging from many terriers, cats, guinea pigs, birds, gerbils and even a bearded dragon. In kindergarten, she did a school poster where she wrote that she wanted to be a veterinarian to help sick animals when she grows up, and feels so lucky to have made that a reality
She received her Bachelor’s degree in biomedical science with honors from the University of New Hampshire in 2015. While at UNH, she spent a summer completing a research project in Namibia, Africa, working with cheetahs! This trip sparked her love for traveling and conservation. She then went on to the University of Minnesota to get her DVM degree in the spring of 2020. While in veterinary school, she participated in many spay and neuter service trips around the world including Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Ecuador and various Indian Reservations.
She lives with her fiancé, their goofy French bulldog, Wilbur, and grumpy gray cat, Logan. Whether it’s walking her dog, biking, hiking or kayaking, she enjoys being outdoors, especially with her family in Vermont! She loves to travel and hopes to take many more trips all around the world. One of her favorite hobbies is exploring new local breweries with her fiancé and her guilty pleasure is keeping up with the popular TV show, The Bachelor.
She can’t pick just one aspect of veterinary medicine that she enjoys most, which is why she loves general practice! However, some of her professional interests include surgery, dermatology and internal medicine. She has completed the Fear Free Veterinary Certification Program and looks forward to forming bonds with her patients and their families.
She is so excited to be starting her career as a veterinarian at VCA Capeway and can’t wait to help your pets stay healthy!
