Dr. Jamie Publicover, BVMS was born in Germany and lived there for the first nine years of her life. After moving to the United States, her family settled in Northwest Indiana. She attended Purdue University for her undergraduate degree in animal sciences and pre-veterinary medicine, earning minors in German and biology. In 2020 she graduated from the University of Glasgow in Scotland with a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine & Surgery (BVMS). She had an amazing time overseas while earning her veterinary degree and was lucky to travel to 15 different countries over five years! Her professional interests include exotic animal medicine, dermatology, and soft tissue surgery. Her favorite thing about veterinary medicine is forming a bond with her patients and their families while managing their chronic health conditions. She loves figuring out unique and different ways to improve pets' quality of life and working with pet owners to find a solution that works for everyone. In addition to cats and dogs, Dr. Publicover sees small mammals and reptiles, including rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs, bearded dragons, and snakes (among others). Dr. Publicover joined VCA Covington in 2020 and has fallen in love with her "work family." She has truly embraced becoming a Washingtonian, along with her husband, two dogs, a cat, two guinea pigs, and a turtle. She loves exploring and traveling, as well as reading books with her book club outside of work. She can't wait to get to know you and your furry (or scaly) companion!
