Originally from Fairfield County, Dr. Comis grew up with a deep love for animals and the outdoors. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland and went on to complete her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Georgia. Following graduation, Dr. Comis completed a year-long small animal rotating internship at Friendship Hospital for Animals in Washington, D.C., where she further cultivated her clinical skills and deepened her interests in dentistry, soft tissue surgery and emergency medicine. Outside of the hospital, Dr. Comis enjoys hiking with her dog, Nico, traveling to new countries, reading memoirs, and discovering new restaurants with her husband, Zach. She is very excited to return to the Northeast and join VCA Davis!
