Dr. Kevin Barber earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Western University of Health Sciences. Upon completion of veterinary school, he did a one year small animal rotating internship at Southern California Veterinary Specialists. Dr. Barber obtained further surgical training by performing a one year surgical internship followed by a three year residency at Long Island Veterinary Specialists in Plainview, New York. After completing his residency, Dr. Barber has been a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons since 2022. Following completion of his certification, Dr. Barber also spent time as a surgery clinical instructor for third year veterinary students at Long Island University.
Dr. Barber has been involved in numerous research studies, publications, and his current interests include the application of 3D printing in veterinary medicine, interventional radiology, and minimally invasive and joint surgery.
As a native San Diegan who grew up in Scripps Ranch, Dr. Barber is excited to return home. During his free time, he enjoys water sports, camping and adventuring with his wife. Dr. Barber's dog Zoe is excited to get her paws back in the sand, but his cats are skeptical.
