Dr. Jessica Sun was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
For her undergraduate studies, she attended the University of Hawaii (Honolulu, HI), receiving a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology with Distinction. She graduated from the University of Melbourne (Melbourne, VIC) in 2014. Dr. Sun completed her Emergency and Critical Care Internship at the Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Center (Philadelphia, PA), and her Emergency and Critical Care Residency at Ocean State Veterinary Specialists (East Greenwich, RI).
Dr. Sun's professional interests include Neonatal critical care, brachycephalic respiratory emergencies, auto-transfusion, sepsis, and mechanical ventilation.
Outside of work, Dr. Sun enjoys paddle boarding, aerial silks, and hiking. With this move to Hawaii, she brings her fiancé, Kira (Boston Terrier Mix), and Blake (Pointer Mix). She plans to spend more time getting to know her fiancé's family and is looking forward to better weather and growing our critical care service!
