Dr. Katie Salsman is originally from New Mexico. She developed a passion for animals at a young age and never lost her focus as she earned her undergraduate degree from New Mexico State University in Animal Science with a minor in Chemistry. During this time, she completed a nutrition internship at Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha, Nebraska, creating the diet book for the Reptile Dome. She earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Colorado State University in 2015.
After graduation, Dr. Salsman moved back to New Mexico, where she practiced for a year before moving to Nevada. She practiced veterinary medicine in Nevada for 4.5 years but always missed Colorado. In 2021, her dream of living in Colorado finally came true, and she is now "home" with family and friends.
Dr. Salsman has always had an interest in ophthalmology, preventative medicine, and dentistry. When not at work, Dr. Salsman enjoys spending time outside with her family exploring beautiful Colorado. You may find her hiking the many trails, fishing, or riding her bike with her husband, Eric, and her dog, Aspen. She also enjoys snuggling with her cuddly cat, Wallace.
