Your Community Partners

Caring for pets means meeting a wide range of needs beyond health care. Fortunately, there’s a whole community of organizations and businesses eager to help.

Here’s where to meet the local groups that we recommend to our pet-loving families.

Meals on Wheels

Broward Meals on Wheels for Companion Animals

Meals on Wheels for Companion Animals Pet Food Drive

VCA Hollywood Animal Hospital proudly partners with Meals on Wheels for Companion Animals to collect food for pets of homebound seniors throughout Broward County.

Meals on Wheels for Companion Animals delivers pet food once a month to homebound seniors who need assistance taking care of their in-home pets. Pet food is provided through the generosity of community donations. The need for donations of cat food is in particular demand among these Meals on Wheels clients.

The success of our annual food drives has been incredible and sparked other local partnerships with a variety of community services including other Veterinarians, local businesses and even other charitable organization.

We are very proud to be a part of this community effort.

Alma maters are important, especially to Vets.  Auburn University holds a special place in the hearts of the VCA Hollywood Staff in that from those hall, we were born. Recently, Auburn University did a piece on the Brother's Dee and the legacy that the Dee family has imparted on our community.

We are grateful for their contribution.

Retired K9 Officer Healthcare Fund

K9 Police Officers serve our city, our county and our state at our borders, on our streets and at our front doors. These canines are trained to act in situations that require stamina, physical agility and quick reaction time. They are fully accredited officers bearing the honor of their office during service and in death.

In retirement, canine officers are no longer financially supported by the department they served. Their handlers, or partners, often voluntarily 'adopt' these animals to live out their retirement in comfort. It is the belief of the Retired K9 Officer Healthcare Fund (RK9OHF) that the cost of healthcare should be supplemented. In accordance with that belief, a partnership was established with the RK9OHF and VCA Hollywood Animal Hospital with the mission to provide the best in wellness care to these officers and to cover a portion of those costs.
