Veterinarian Mackenzie Burke joined the VCA Knapp's Corner team in July of 2025.
Her journey into veterinary medicine began with a deep love for animals and a strong academic foundation, earning her bachelor's in animal science with a minor in biology from Clemson University, followed by her DVM from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine.
Mackenzie was drawn to VCA Knapp's Corner by the opportunity to grow alongside a team that shares her passion for compassionate care and lifelong learning. What excites her most about being part of this hospital is the chance to build meaningful relationships with both pets and their people, while contributing to a field that is constantly evolving.
When she's not at the hospital, Mackenzie enjoys staying active—whether that's exercising, spending time outdoors, or exploring new places and cuisines. She's also a self-proclaimed homebody who loves curling up with a good book or binge-watching comedies and crime shows. While she doesn't currently have any pets, she has a soft spot for Labrador retrievers and hopes to welcome one into her life soon.
