Janey joined our team in November of 2022 and we are thrilled to have her! She, her husband Zach, and their five cats; Luci, Sushi, Tink, Tina, and Meeko, moved here all the way from Atlanta, Georgia. Janey describes herself as a "typical crazy cat lady," although she adores all animals. She graduated from a NAVTA approved veterinary assistant program and passed the Approved Veterinary Assistant examination. Janey is currently working towards becoming a certified veterinary technician. She is extremely passionate about helping animals and their humans. Janey's veterinary interests currently include; feline medicine, behavioral medicine, dermatology, dentistry, ultrasonography, and general practice. She is always willing and wanting to learn as much as can, so she can continue to advance her career and help as many pets as possible. Janey hopes to one day become a veterinarian who specializes in felines and behavioral medicine. She is also just as passionate about helping local wildlife and would like to eventually become a wildlife rehabilitator. Janey has volunteered at human societies and with local rescues in Gainesville, Marietta, and Atlanta, Georgia. She has experience fostering special needs dogs and neonatal kittens. Janey worked as a client services coordinator at a different pet hospital before joining our team.
In her free time Janey enjoys exploring nature with her husband; hiking, snowboarding, rock climbing, and kayaking. She also loves cooking vegan cuisine, playing any of the Zelda games, attending concerts and music festivals, crafting, getting new tattoos, and cuddling her five cats. She is obsessed with the Celsius energy drinks and Ben & Jerry's ice cream. Janey loves visiting Disney World with her family and can't resist an opportunity to travel. Costa Rica holds a special place in her heart and she hopes to one day own property there. Janey is also looking forward to one day becoming a mother and starting her own family.
