Kristin McCarthy
Area Manager / Hospital Manager

As a child, Kristin always dreamed of being a veterinarian. She attended Penn State University beginning in the Animal Science field. After a couple of years in school, she realized that her compassion for animals would make it difficult to perform surgery and to ultimately make the decisions needed to euthanize at the end of an animal's journey. With that in mind, Kristin decided to change direction toward elementary education. She became a teacher right out of school and taught for 10 years in Philadelphia, but always regretted never fulfilling her dream.

After having 2 children of her own, Kristin decided to change life directions. A full-time opportunity presented itself at VCA Neshaminy Animal Hospital and she decided to jump on it. Kristin has been with VCA since 2009, initially starting as a Client Service Representative and moving her way up to Hospital Manager. She loves her job and the people she works with. Kristin enjoys spending most free time with her husband, children, and her many fur babies Her outside interests include camping, softball, and general family activities like hiking with the dogs at Tyler State Park.

"The kindness one does for an animal may not change the world…but it will change the world for that one animal."
