Dr. Christian Eckert grew up in a small town in central Kansas. Spending time around his grandparents' farm and always making it a point to say hi to every animal he saw, he knew he was going to be a veterinarian from the start. He attended Kansas State University for both his undergraduate and veterinary degrees.
After graduation, he moved to the Kansas City area and has been practicing around the city. He started at a mixed animal practice for his first year before switching to small animal medicine. Dr. Eckert has a passion for helping families and their pets through the highs and the lows. His interests lie in preventive care, education, diagnostics (especially ultrasound), and watching pets go from their first puppy/kitten visits to adulthood with their family. He is also proficient in American Sign Language.
Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Eckert lives with his husband, Christian, and their corgi/cattle dog mix, Mac, and domesticated street cat, Freckle. He plays trumpet in a local community orchestra and jazz band. He also enjoys traveling, movies, game nights, or enjoying outside time with friends at any venue with a good patio.
