Amy

Office Manager

Amy was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She attended Texas A&M Corpus Christi. Amy has always had pets and carries a deep love for animals, though she originally thought she would pursue work in psychology. She was at a professional impasse when a lifelong friend and former VCA Preston Park employee told her she should apply to join her in reception and work together. She began in December of 2013 and hasn't turned back since.

As our hospital's office manager, Amy takes pride in building long-lasting relationships with our clients. She oversees the completion of International Health Certificates with our USDA-accredited veterinarians to ensure our clients have fewer headaches when planning international moves or vacations. She also has a keen understanding of pet nutrition and holds a certificate with Royal Canin for completing their Nutritional Advocacy Program.

One thing Amy believes all our clients ought to know is that we are thinking about their pets all the time, even when they aren't here. We are always striving to improve and looking for additional ways to help them. Despite not working with pets in surgery, she has always found both surgery and dental procedures fascinating. One of her favorite parts of her job is getting to meet our clients' adorable puppies and kittens.

Amy has three dogs: Ruby, the Chiweenie, and June and Hammy, the Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. When introducing Hammy to the family, Amy reflected that he really helped June come out of her shell. June has always been really shy and nervous. Hammy has helped teach her not to be as scared of everything and build her confidence. June and Hammy also love to play ball together, which June didn't really get to do with Ruby. Ruby would much rather watch the other two having fun instead.

In her free time, Amy loves to read a good book, take walks in nature, travel, bake, and cook. One of her personal favorites is blackberry cobbler. She loves spending time with her partner and their pups. She would love to continue to travel and explore our big and beautiful world.
