Ashley Smith

Dr. Smith grew up moving all over the country, but her roots are in Nashville. She earned her undergraduate degree and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from the University of Tennessee, where she developed a strong foundation in animal health and nutrition. She completed a rotating internship at VCA Franklin Park and Berwyn in Chicago, where she honed her skills in internal medicine, surgery, and emergency care. Following her internship, she spent several years working in emergency medicine in Atlanta and Chicago. Passionate about nutrition and its role in overall wellness, she pursued a master's degree in nutrition at Tufts University, further expanding her expertise in dietary management and preventive health strategies. Dr. Smith went on to become a registered dietitian and then pursued board certification in nutrition support. She spent several years working as a nutrition support specialist specializing in cardiothoracic and parenteral nutrition patients. Her clinical interests include nutritional support for hospitalized patients and emergency medicine.
