10 Bucket list ideas to do with your pet
Make 2021 a year of memorable fun with a pet bucket list! Start by writing down all the activities you’ve always wanted to do with your pet, then resolve to check off every last one before the end of the year. Here are some ideas to get your pet’s bucket list started.
• Try pet yoga. Let your pet stretch and relax along with you in guided cat yoga and "doga" online sessions. You may even find your pet napping on you by the end.
• Hike a national park. Take in some of the most beautiful outdoor spaces in our country by visiting a national park with your dog. Not all national parks are pet friendly, so be sure to do your research in advance.
• Build a "catio." Let your cat safely enjoy the outdoors with an enclosed cat patio. If space allows, you can even add some chairs so the two of you can snuggle in the fresh air.
• Go to the beach. Find out what your dog thinks of the surf on their first epic beach adventure. We bet they’ll be chasing waves and frolicking in the foam before the day is done.
• Warm up by a fire. Nothing beats a toasty fire on a cold winter day. Cuddle together and bask in all the warmth and love.
• Visit every park in town. Break out of your walk routine and explore other local parks with your dog. See if you can find a hidden gem to add to your favorites list.
• Start a pet sport. Dock diving, lure chasing, nosework—there are so many options to choose from! You can even try agility with your cat!
• Teach them a new trick. Spend some quality bonding time mastering a fun new trick. After all, what’s more adorable than a cat high five?
• Celebrate their birthday in style. Get your pet gussied up, bake some healthy treats and do all of your pet’s favorite activities to mark your best bud’s special day.
• Start a pet fan page. Share all of your pet’s adventures this year on their very own social media page. Such fuzzy cuteness has to be shared with the world!
Don’t forget to check with your veterinarian before starting any new or strenuous activities with your pet. Call your VCA hospital to speak with your veterinarian or conveniently schedule an appointment right from your myVCA app.
