Veterinary Assistant Lead

I love being a veterinary assistant because I get to help the ones that can't speak for themselves. Ever since I was a little kid, I always had animals around me. I enjoy seeing how happy they are after getting better, as well as seeing all the puppies and kittens grow. The best feeling is when the dog sees you and gets excited knowing that they are at the veterinarian's office. I also love being able to help them in their time of need from their surgical procedures to having to say goodbye.

I have been in the veterinary field for eight years now. It all started here at VCA Simmons in 2016. I started in the parks as a park attendant playing with all the dogs. I moved to managing all the daycare dogs that came to spend the day running and lounging by the pool. In 2017 I became a hotel veterinarian assistant; after some time after I got promoted to lead hotel veterinarian assistant. In 2019, I moved up to the hospital and continued the learning experience. Here I worked hard and became a surgery veterinarian assistant where I assisted the doctors with their surgeries. In 2022, I became the hospital veterinarian assistant lead where I assist everyone and help manage the floor and the surgeries.
