VCA Veterinary Specialists of the Valley is proud to offer state of the art MRI services. With the diagnostic abilities of our high-field-strength MRI, we can identify the true nature of your pet's problem, giving you peace of mind and allowing us to more effectively treat your pet.
What is MRI?
Through MRI imaging, our doctors see soft tissues such as the brain or spinal cord, joints, and cardiovascular structures in even better detail than with radiographs or CT-scan. MRI scanning is a safe diagnostic imaging tool.
Can I be in the room during the MRI?
Unfortunately we cannot accommodate this request. However, your pet’s wellbeing is very important to us. We will prepare and care for your pet during the MRI with the same discipline and seriousness of any complex surgical procedure. It is especially important to avoid interruptions and possible distractions to allow our staff to fully concentrate on caring for your pet and performing the MRI expediently and properly. The MRI will be completed much more rapidly when only trained staff is present. Of course, you are welcome to wait in our offices during the procedure. We will be happy to let you be with your pet as soon as he or she wakes up for anesthesia.
Your VCA VSV doctor and your family veterinarian will be given a written report of the radiologist’s findings within 24 hours of the scan.
