Shaina has been working with animals in various capacities for over 10 years. They started in a daycare and boarding facility, as well as in-home sitting and dog walking. Over the years, they have had a passion for not only making dogs and cats feel safe and comforted, but early on was fascinated by medical care, specializing in first aid as a kennel worker. After a brief foray into welding and metal work, Shaina realized animal care was all they wanted to do. Shaina has been with VCA since 2019, starting at reception and working up to assistant. In their outside time, Shaina co-founded a non-profit animal rescue, Resilient Hearts Animal Sanctuary, inspired by their own rescue dog, Biscuit. Shaina also performs as an actor and musician whenever possible.
