Dr. Paulina Sergienko graduated from the University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Kosice, Slovakia in 2011. She lived and worked in fast-paced England for three years before meeting her American husband while treating his beloved dog. The two then decided to move to the US for a new adventure and the promise for career enrichment. After two years of traveling between the states and Europe, she obtained her California veterinary medical license and joined the VCA San Martin Animal Hospital team in May 2016. Whilst enjoying all aspects of veterinary medicine, she has a strong interest in diagnostic imaging (ultrasound), and her favorite place in the hospital is the surgical suite.
When not at work, Dr. Paulina spends her time outdoors hiking and running with her Weimaraner, “Ema”, English Staffordshire Terrier, “Mia” and Pitbull-Boxer cross “Penny”. She also enjoys weight training and traveling abroad.
A fact from Paulina's childhood – She wanted to be a dog first but had to become a vet since the first option didn’t work out! We are so very happy to have her on our team, even if she only has two legs.
