As a child, I was lucky enough to have understanding parents who allowed my sister and I to have a whole menagerie of pocket pets, a few rabbits and one beloved family dog, which solidified my love for animals at a young age. I also developed a true passion for horses and horseback riding which carried me from my hometown of Seattle to the East Coast to continue my education at Mount Holyoke College. When not studying biology, I was at the barn riding and competing on the Varsity Intercollegiate Riding Team. From there, I stayed on the East Coast for my veterinary education, graduating from the University of Pennsylvania in 2009.
Following veterinary school, I first went into equine medicine completing an equine internship at West Coast Equine and then working in the field for another two years. Realizing that I missed working with smaller animals, I completed an additional internship at VCA Animal Specialty and Emergency Center (ASEC) in 2013 which solidified my decision to make the change. Since then, I have been working in general small animal practice in the Los Angeles area. My areas of interest are the human/animal bond, preventive and internal medicine, dentistry, surgery and dermatology. I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to join VCA Animal Medical Dental Group and build long last relationships with clients and patients.
I currently live in West LA with my rescue cat, Theo, as well as Fred, a Chinese Box turtle who has been with me since the age of 12. Sadly, I recently lost my much-loved terrier mix, Nora, but eventually plan to welcome another dog into my household. In my free time, I enjoy yoga, barre classes, walking, quilting, concerts, and travel.
