I have always had a love for animals. Growing up in rural northern California, I spent most of my days playing outside with our dogs and cats. After high school, I moved to the San Francisco Bay area and obtained a bachelor's degree from UC Berkeley. It was during that time that I realized I enjoyed the science underlying the medicine in addition to my love for animals. Following college, I received my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine.
I moved to Southern California after graduation as a new veterinarian and began my internship at VCA Animal Specialty and Emergency Center. It was this intense year that taught me how to apply what I had learned in veterinary school to the real world. After my internship I worked at a general practice in West Los Angeles where I enjoyed developing lasting relationships with clients.
After three years of general practice I decided that I wanted to pursue emergency medicine and accepted an emergency doctor position at the location of my prior internship, VCA Animal Specialty and Emergency Center. My role changed from student to teacher during these five years. I trained new veterinarians while treating emergency patients in this multi-specialty hospital. I thoroughly enjoyed watching new graduates grow into great doctors and colleagues.
After five years of emergency medicine, I realized that I missed forming close relationships with clients and their animals. I am truly lucky to have the opportunity to join the team at VCA Animal Medical and Dental Group. I am very excited to meet the patients and clients and form long lasting relationships. My professional interests include internal medicine and wellness/preventative care.
Currently I live in Marina del Rey with my two rescue cats, Penny and Violet. Outside of work, I enjoy world travel, hiking, indoor climbing and spin.
