Before joining VCA Antioch Animal Hospital – Deer Valley in 2000, Kara spent time in North Carolina, Ohio, and Texas. She earned her bachelor's in zoology from UC Davis, which led to her career as a registered veterinary technician (RVT). As an RVT, Kara has a professional interest in surgery and behavior, which she finds fascinating. She especially enjoys knowing her patients go home feeling better after surgeries such as dental cleanings and or extractions. When not caring for our patients, Kara enjoys reading, writing, sewing, crocheting, and gardening among other hobbies with her two black cats.
