Jennifer Renner, Staff Veterinarian
Dr. Renner has been interested in working with animals since a young age. She got her start in veterinary medicine by joining the Boy Scout Explorers in high school, and getting a job as a kennel technician at what is now Animal Hospital of Park Glen in Fort Worth. Later, she worked at the BioAquatics Facility at Texas A&M where she cared for fish, sea turtles, and invertebrates. She was also a laboratory animal technician for the year before veterinary school at Texas A&M, which resulted in many years of being involved in fancy rat rescues. In addition, in undergrad she was an active member in the Zoological Society, the Aggie Speleological Society and spent one semester in the Fightin' Aggie Texas Band.
When Dr. Renner is not at work, she enjoys hiking, gardening, reading, playing the French horn, writing letters, or taking her dogs swimming. She also likes to spend time with her husband, Dennis, their dogs Cooper and Dellmar, and their tuxedo cat Doreen. Dr. Renner is a member of the League of Extraordinary Penpals, the secretary of our local Austin veterinary medical association (CAVMA), and is starting an organization called Healthy Pets, Healthy Kids, which seeks to unite kids with veterinarians to learn about veterinary medicine. Dr. Renner has professional interests in internal medicine and dentistry.
