Dr. Sonia Honkisz grew up in the southwest suburbs of Chicago. After graduating from the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana in 2009, she completed a rotating internship as well as an oncology specialty internship. Upon completing a medical oncology residency and receiving a master's degree from Purdue University, she accepted a faculty position at Michigan State University's College of Veterinary Medicine. On her days off, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, watching movies, and relaxing at home with her two dogs and four cats.
Her oncology interests include novel drug therapies, transitional cell carcinoma, osteosarcoma, and feline oncology.
