Dr. Ilie received her DVM degree from School of Veterinary Medicine, Bucharest, Romania. She completed a one-year small animal rotating internship at VCA Aurora/Berwyn in IL. After working as an emergency clinician for one year, she pursued a three-year residency in Emergency and Critical Care at Purdue University. During her residency she also received a master's degree in veterinary clinical medicine. She received her board certification in Emergency and Critical Care in 2016.
Dr. Ilie's interests include extracorporeal therapies (i.e., dialysis, plasmapheresis, hemoperfusion), trauma cases, respiratory diseases, sepsis.
As part of her desire to give back to the community, Dr. Ilie has served as the President of the Romanian Emergency and Critical Care Society (RoVECCS) for four years. During this time, she presented numerous lectures, workshops and webinars internationally. She also enjoys speaking at different Conferences within USA. She continues to publish scientific papers in peer reviewed journals. She is also member of different committees within the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care (ACVECC).
When not at work, she enjoys spending time with her family and Sir Axel (aka the most beautiful German Shepherd in the whole world).
