Dr. Sowders joined VCA Arboretum View Animal Hospital in 2015, after working for two years in an emergency/specialty hospital in Cincinnati, OH. A native of Dayton, OH, he attended The Ohio State University for his undergraduate and DVM degrees, both of which he graduated summa cum laude. After graduation, he completed a small animal rotating internship at Pittsburgh Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Center. His professional interests include all aspects of emergency and critical care medicine with particular interests in respiratory distress, cardiovascular emergencies and sepsis.
Dr. Sowders lives with his wife Meagan, and their three Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Archie, Bernie and Georgie. In his free time he enjoys cooking, reading, listening to music and learning more about what Illinois has to offer.
