Pet Boarding

Dog Boarding

When traveling for business or taking your family on vacation there is a lot to do and enough stress without having to worry about who is going to take care of your beloved animal companion. This is especially true if your pet has a chronic or acute medical condition that requires a caregiver with some veterinary knowledge and experience.

Rather than impose on a neighbor or rely on a pet sitter with little animal care training, County West Animal Hospital offers veterinarian supervised boarding for pets with medical needs. For example, if your dog is epileptic or your cat has diabetes, we are able to offer your pet safe and comfortable boarding as well as any necessary medical care.

We are all pet owners and deliver our boarding service as we would want for our own pets. When you bring your pet for boarding, he / she is personally admitted to the hospital by one of our trained veterinary technician team members.

Your pet's special health needs, such as medicine administration, food preparation, and exercise restrictions, are reviewed with you. In many cases, clients will bring their pet's own food as many are on special diets.

We offer a very modern facility for boarding your cat or dog. Each boarding area is air-conditioned in the summer and heated in the winter. We provide individual large dog kennels with outdoor runs. Our staff also takes dogs outside individually in the fenced in exercise yard several times daily.

Each dog kennel has its own pet cot for sleeping. You can also choose to board your dog with or without access to individually enclosed outdoor runs.

We do require reservations and our boarders must be current on certain vaccines:

Dogs: Current rabies, distemper, parvo and kennel cough (bordetella). A negative fecal exam within the past 12 months and on current heartworm and flea prevention medications.

We provide a free bath after 10 days of boarding.
