Dr. Carrier joined the team at VCA Dakota Ridge in August of 2022 after relocating from Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she was born and raised. She graduated from Northern Arizona University with her Bachelor of Science in Biology and then earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University in 2019.
After graduating from NAU, she worked as the wildlife biologist at Ted Turner's Vermejo Park Ranch in northern New Mexico. While at Vermejo Park, Dr. Carrier studied and managed the ranch's elk, mule deer, bison, and other wildlife populations. In this role, she also served as a wildland firefighter and wilderness first responder.
Following her graduation from veterinary school, Dr. Carrier completed a one-year rotating internship at VCA Veterinary Care in ABQ where she trained in emergency medicine, internal medicine, and surgery. Her special interests include surgery, senior patient care, and working dogs (with a particular fondness for German shepherds).
