Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Dr. Slade graduated from the University of Pennsylvania school of Veterinary Medicine in 1993. After completing an internship at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital in New Jersey, Dr. Slade moved back to Pittsburgh to run a 24-hour emergency hospital. He then relocated with his wife to New Jersey and joined Edgebrook Animal Hospital as the Medical Director ten years ago. Dr. Slade brings sixteen years of experience and advanced medical and surgical skills to Edgebrook.
In his very limited free time, Dr. Slade enjoys fishing, camping, and nature activities with his wife, Elena, and his two children, Sophia and Michael. His house is filled with an array of small animals: two dogs, Lucy and Zeus; three cats, Jasmine, Stoffies, and George; a sun conure named Mango; Mousie the guinea pig; and Windy the Chinese hamster.
