Rebecca Stone, Staff Veterinarian

In a drawer of keep sakes at my parent's home is the typical "what do you want to be when you grown up" art project I made in elementary school.  It depicts a crude stick figure wearing a stethoscope surrounded by creatures of all kinds. My love for animals was nurtured by spending summer days at my grandparent's farm.  My grandma's favorite story to tell is how I would spend hours stalking feral barn kittens around just to win enough of their trust to pet them even once. My grandpa always let me bottle feed the calves and he would bring in newborn lambs for me to hold, grandma would just sigh seeing a lamb in her kitchen while trying to hide a smile.  I always knew I wanted to be a veterinarian and I am so lucky to be living my childhood dream. There was never anything else I saw myself doing, and my family has always supported me from day one.  They even supported me when I told them I would be leaving to country to pursue my dream after being accepted into Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine on the island of St. Kitts in the middle of the Caribbean. From rural farm life to exotic island living, I have ben given a wonderful opportunity to work with all kinds of creatures and I have loved every moment.  I am excited to provide excellent patient care and education for pet owners so your pets can live their very best lives.
