Kelsey began as a Veterinary Assistant with Fairway in October 2014. As she developed her skills, she began training to be a Surgery Assistant and now spends her days assisting the surgery team, monitoring patients under anesthesia, and caring for them through recovery. Kelsey is Fear Free Elite Certified, along with technician Erin, who co-leads the Fear Free team here at Fairway. She knows that not all pets enjoy coming to the vet, and coming in for surgery can be a stressful experience for them. She enjoys caring for the physical and emotional well-being of a patient by eliminating their fear, anxiety, and stress.   

Having grown up with dachshunds, she has a soft spot for them, and now has one of her own, Laverne. She also has a whippet mix named Mavis that she adopted while working at Kansas City Pet Project. Outside of work, Kelsey enjoys visiting various parks with her dogs and loves to read and see live music.
