Canadian born, raised, and trained, Dr. Michael Kwan is a graduate of the Ontario Veterinary College, one of just five veterinary schools north of the border. He moved to sunny California following the completion of his degree and joined the Foothill team in October 2016. Dr. Kwan strives to provide his clients with the knowledge and support to make informed decisions and in turn, to provide his patients with only the highest standard of care. His main goal for his career is to “improve the lives of people by improving the lives of their pets.”

Outside of the hospital, Dr. Kwan has a passion for culture and travel and has backpacked across more than 15 countries to date. He has even practiced veterinary medicine in rural parts of Thailand and Laos, having treated a variety of species ranging from the common street dog to the Asian elephant. In addition, Dr. Kwan enjoys staying active through many forms of sport and plans to take up Spanish now that he has settled in beautiful Southern California.
