Registered Veterinary Technician Supervisor
RVT
I decided when I was 8 years old that I wanted to be a veterinarian someday. That goal led me to graduating from UC Davis with a B.S. in Animal Science in 2012. With getting into vet school being very competitive and the amount of dedication vet school requires, I decided at that time to try the Veterinary Technician route first to not only get my foot in the door, but to get a real feel of the vet field. I then got into the Cosumnes River College Veterinary Technician Program and graduated with a A.S. in Veterinary Technology in 2015. Giving myself ample time to study, I passed the boards and officially became a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) in June 2016. I worked a brief job as a kennel assistant for a private practice before landing a veterinary assistant job at a VCA in July 2015. I have been with VCA ever since and I love it and the medicine they practice. I got promoted to Technician Supervisor and remained so for 3.5 years at my first hospital until I transferred here to VCA La Riviera in September 2021. Seven months later, I got promoted here and am currently the Technician Supervisor for a team I absolutely love. Somewhere down the line, I realized that what I truly wanted all along was to be an RVT, not a Veterinarian. Outside of work I enjoy reading, spending time with my animals, shopping, watching TV while relaxing, and jamming out to Backstreet Boys! My favorite animals are dogs, cats, and cows! I currently have two dogs, Gemma and Lenny, one cat named Poe, and no cows (yet). My animals are my children and I treat all our patients with that same compassion. I absolutely love my job and my goal in life is to help as many animals and their owners as I possibly can.
