Dr. Rivera was born and raised in New Jersey, where he discovered his passion for veterinary medicine at a young age. Inspired by his family's deep compassion for animals and his experiences caring for livestock on his family's small farm in Guatemala, he pursued this passion.
He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Saint Peter's University and later completed a Bachelor of Science in Biology at New Jersey City University. Dr. Rivera went on to earn his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from St. George's University in Grenada, completing his clinical training at Louisiana State University. Following graduation, he completed a year-long rotating internship at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital in Tinton Falls, NJ, where he developed a special interest in surgery and dentistry.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Rivera enjoys hiking, exploring new cuisines, experiencing different cultures, and spending time with his close-knit family. He shares his home with his girlfriend and two beloved cats, Indy and Bojji.
