Amy Haines, Credentialed Veterinary Technician
Why I do what I do: "My name is Amy and I've been a technician at VCA Newark since February 1988. Obviously I love my job. The people I work with are like family to me. The reason I got into veterinary medicine is because of my own family. I was fortunate enough to be born into a family of hard working farmers where passion and common sense were applied on a daily basis. My father and mother urged my brothers and I to be proud after a job well done in whatever you do, but most important to be happy in what you do. I was a member of the 4-H from the age of 9 to 18 and my main projects were dairy cows and photography. We always had dogs and cats on the farm and it was then I decided to be a small animal technician. I have always loved animals and enjoy helping the doctors do their job well. I have 2 children, Kaitlyn and Jacob, and they are another reason I get up and go to work every day."
