Ellie Bohrer
Emergency Veterinarian DVM
Dr. Ellie Bohrer joined VCA Northwest Veterinary Specialists in June 2020 after graduating from Oregon State University School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Cohen received her undergraduate degree with a Major in Zoology and a Minor in Chemistry from Oregon State University Honor's College. During her time in school, Dr. Bohrer was busy as an academic and mental health coach, doing research in the reproductive sciences, and guiding tours of the beautiful campus of Oregon State University.

When not at work, Dr. Bohrer can often be found spending time exploring and hiking the great PNW outdoors. She is often on horseback, exercising her self-described "chunky" mount Handy, a former rodeo contestant. Dr. Bohrer shares her home with her cocker spaniel Reggie and three cats. Her cat Tillie is a "fluffy, flopping, feline" example of the love Portland veterinarians have for cats: she was a former stray who had her leg repaired in a collaborative effort between  NWVS and Oregon Humane Society. Everyone knows that Dr. Bohrer's loves include living in the Northwest and a really great bowl of mac and cheese, but she has a secret abiding passion for all things Disney. She is waiting patiently until the day arrives she can visit the (second) happiest place on Earth.
