Emily Pieracci

Emergency Veterinarian

DVM, DACVPM

Dr. Emily Pieracci is an emergency veterinarian with board certification as a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine (DACVPM). She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Washington State University and her Master's in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University in 2014. Following her formal education, Dr. Pieracci completed a two-year infectious disease epidemiology fellowship at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Dr. Pieracci has a strong professional interest in zoonotic and emerging infectious diseases and has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed journal articles on a wide range of topics, including rabies, melioidosis, leishmaniosis, COVID-19, and mpox. She enjoys the fast-paced, intellectually challenging nature of emergency medicine and is deeply committed to providing compassionate care to both pets and the people who love them.

Originally from Washington state, Dr. Pieracci spent the past decade in Atlanta, Georgia before joining VCA Orange County Veterinary Specialists. Outside of work, she enjoys ballroom dancing and hiking with her Basenji mix, Wily.
