The friendly, professional staff at VCA Orchard Plaza Animal Hospital is made up of dedicated individuals who have made it their mission to help pets live long, healthy lives. To achieve this goal, we have five full-time veterinarians with a combined experience of over 50 years to care for your pet. With difficult cases, our doctors frequently consult with each other and local specialists to provide thorough diagnostic testing and treatment options.
Additionally, our friendly support staff is here to help address any questions or concerns you may have. We have one registered technician and several staff members currently undertaking this additional training.
Together we strive to provide excellent client service and health care. Please let us know how we can assist you!

Dr. Seward is our hospital Medical Director. She graduated from UC Davis in 1998 and has been working here since shortly after her second child was born. (That child is now heading to college, so you do the math!) Although she is not a specialist in exotic pets, she is happy to see rodents, rabbits, reptiles, and birds in addition to dogs and cats.
In her spare time, she loves to hike, bike, and Scottish Country dance with her husband of 26 years. She has another grown child who lives in Colorado, two adorable young cats that are hard to tell apart, and a small dog who is slowly getting older. To round things out, she has 3 snakes (a 40-year-old Ball Python, a 30-year-old Red-Tailed Boa, and a 30-year-old Sinaloan Milksnake).
Marisol Marquez-Ramirez is a San Jose native. She is a graduate of San Francisco State University, having received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. Marisol started her career at VCA Orchard Plaza Animal Hospital in 2015 as a Client Service Representative. She worked her way up through the positions of Lead Client Service Representative, then Office Manager, and finally Hospital Manager in September 2021.
Marisol and her partner recently moved to Gilroy with their dogs, cats, lizards, and birds. When she is not working or tending to her zoo, she enjoys gardening, home projects, and making new memories.
