Dr. Mary LoCicero, originally from San Jose, CA, attended UC Davis, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Physiology in 1985. After graduation, she started a family and worked as a licensed veterinary technician in the Bay Area and then Sacramento Veterinary Surgical Services (SVSS). She returned to UC Davis' School of Veterinary Medicine, earning her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) in 2000.
Dr. LoCicero went on to become the owner of SVSS for several years before her family relocated to Naples, Florida. While there, she had the opportunity to evaluate and treat injured Florida panthers, including helping raise some cubs. She also worked as an emergency veterinarian before moving back home to California and rejoining our team, as SVSS became VCA SVRC in 2005. She has a passion for teaching and a special interest in surgery.
Outside of work, Dr. LoCicero enjoys swimming, paddle boarding, hiking, and spending time with her family. They have three dogs, two Golden Retrievers named Bubbles and Murphy and an Australian Shepherd named Molly.
