Dr. Forrest is a native of Ohio and received both his undergraduate degree and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ohio State University. He has been working at VCA St. Mary's Animal Hospital since 1987. He and his late wife were the previous owners prior to selling to VCA in 2009.

Dr. Forrest has a special interest in exotic patient care including birds, reptiles, ferrets, rabbits and other small mammals. He especially enjoys surgery and has obtained extensive professional training in small animal orthopedic, laser and laparoscopic surgery. He currently resides in Hollywood, Maryland, with his dog, Todd.
