Dr. Giovanna Copeland grew up in the San Francisco Bay area and graduated from Oregon State University in 2014. After graduation, Dr. Copeland completed a rotating internship at a VCA VREC in Connecticut in 2018. From there, she then completed an oncology residency at Iowa State University in 2021, becoming board certified in July of 2021.

Dr. Copeland’s inspiration to become a veterinarian came from her love of animals and science. Her favorite part of a workday is being able to work and be a part of an awesome team. When Dr. Copeland isn’t in the hospital with her patients, she enjoys yoga, running, and working out. She comes from a long line of veterinarians and doctors, with her dad being a MD, her grandfather having been a veterinarian, and her great-grandfather also a MD.
