Philip Ryan
Veterinary Specialist DVM, DACVIM

Dr. Phillip Ryan is originally from Grosse Pointe, Michigan. He is a veteran of the United States Navy and served two tours of duty in the Persian Gulf as an Operations Specialist and Search and Rescue swimmer. After the military he studied biology at the University of Michigan while working in the research fields of endocrinology and cardiothoracic surgery. He then attended Michigan State University for veterinary school followed by a small animal medicine and surgery internship at the University of Wisconsin. He spent a year working as an emergency veterinarian followed by a year as a primary care veterinarian before realizing that his true passion was internal medicine. He completed his small animal internal medicine residency at the University of Tennessee. His areas of interest include immune-mediated diseases, hyperadrenocorticism, blood disorders, acute and chronic kidney diseases, chronic inflammatory enteropathies and minimally invasive procedures such as endoscopy, laparoscopy, joint taps and bone marrows. Dr. Ryan loves all of his patients but is especially fond of giant-breed dogs. He is eager and excited to establish a supportive and collaborative relationship with primary-care veterinarians in New Hampshire.
