Dr. Rigby was born and raised in League City, Texas. His family got their first pet, a black Labrador retriever named Beaux, when he was a junior at Clear Creek High School. A few months later, they discovered that Beaux likely had a rare inherited muscle disorder that caused reduced muscle mass but allowed for a normal quality of life. It was during this time that Dr. Rigby discovered his interest in veterinary medicine.
In 2015, Dr. Rigby joined the Texas A&M Aggie community (Gig ’em!) and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences with a double major in Entomology in 2019. He remained in College Station for another four years and earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2023 from the Texas A&M University School of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Rigby officially joined VCA Westside in July 2023. The best part of his job is working closely with animals and their advocates to provide high-quality care. His professional interests include soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, ophthalmology, anesthesiology, and preventive medicine.
In his free time, Dr. Rigby enjoys spending time with his wife, Kelsi, and their pets—August, a female orange tabby; Dory, a long-haired female cat; Nemo, a male tabby; and Mando, their newest addition, a male Lab mix. He also enjoys working on his golf game (which never ends), playing video games, going to Astros games, and reading. He is an avid fan of both Star Wars and The Lord of the Rings.
