Dr. Whinery was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona, and developed a love of all animals from a young age. She grew up on cattle ranches and has always enjoyed riding horses, and has a fondness for small and large animals alike. Dr. Whinery attended veterinary school in Melbourne, Australia, after falling in love with living abroad after living in Madrid, Spain, during college. She found her passion for small animal emergency medicine during her rotating internship at VCA West Los Angeles. She loves to travel, hike, box, and do anything in the ocean. She currently lives in LA with her chihuahua mix, Kenny.
