Desiree Johnson is a dedicated veterinary professional with a strong background in surgical care and hospital leadership. She began her career in veterinary medicine as a client service representative, but quickly transitioned to a hands-on role as a veterinary assistant, driven by her passion for animal care. Over the years, she has honed her expertise in the surgery department at two prominent Los Angeles-based specialty hospitals, including VCA Animal Specialty Group (VCA ASG).
Since joining VCA ASG in 2008, Desiree has progressively advanced in leadership roles. She first served as the surgery department supervisor before being promoted to hospital technician manager in 2016. In 2020, she assumed the role of hospital manager, where she continues to contribute to operational excellence, team development, and high-quality patient care.
Desiree holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, which she earned in 2006. She later obtained her credentials as a Registered Veterinary Technician after successfully passing the Veterinary Technician National Exam.
Outside of work, Desiree enjoys spending time with her husband and their beloved pets—her dog, Indy; her cat, Lilu; and her two (female) cockatiels, Maverick and Goose. In her free time, she indulges in survival video games, collects Halloween décor, explores hiking trails, and enjoys cooking and savoring spicy Japanese and Mexican cuisine.
