Staff Veterinarian DVM
As a youngster I could be consistently found outside with my Grandpa and Grandma and the cows, chickens, pigs, goats, etc., when at the family ranch in Eastern Montana, or playing with any number of dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, or blue bellied lizards that we had slowly added to the menagerie at our home in rural Wyoming. In that regard, very little has changed and I continue to have the same passion for caring for animals as I did years ago. Though I took a slightly non-traditional route toward becoming a veterinarian (my childhood professional goals included the likes of astronaut, paleontologist, spy, entomologist, and medical doctor), I finished my BS (University of Wyoming, Microbiology), MS (Fisheries Biology, University of Idaho), and DVM (Washington State University), completed a 1 year rotating internship at WestVet in Boise, ID, and then followed my fiancé, Andreas, to Virginia Tech where I was hired and trained as a clinical laboratory animal veterinarian for campus. After a fun-filled 3 year adventure in Southwest Virginia, we were thrilled to move back West. I've loved growing into my current role as a general practice veterinarian which allows me to provide excellent care for household pets, develop close working relationships with their people, and continue to be challenged and learn in this lovely, crazy field. Dentistry, radiology, internal medicine, and wound management are some of my particular passions, and the human-animal bond is fascinating to me.

Andreas and I have two Netherland Dwarf rabbits; Jigs, the miniature schnauzer; Oscar, the craziest poodle of the bunch; Tink, the very best cat ever; and have just finished a coop for chickens which will be populated soon!

Outside of work, I love to spend time working on projects around our property (particularly landscaping and gardening), backpacking/hiking, reading, fishing, pottery (when time allows), and very poorly learning French and playing the guitar, and of course, visiting family and friends, near and far.
