Dr. Lane has called the very special city of Newnan, GA, home since 2013, where she lives with her husband Joe, a Newnan native, and their son, Sam. Originally from Decatur, GA, she now treasures being close to both immediate family and lifelong friends—many of whom she enjoys traveling and camping with as often as possible.
As an only child, Dr. Lane found deep companionship in animals. Her childhood home was filled with a variety of furry and feathered friends. That early connection to animals inspired her path to veterinary medicine and led her to Athens, GA, where she pursued her education at the University of Georgia. She earned dual degrees in biological sciences and animal science in 2003, followed by her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2007.
After graduating, Dr. Lane began her veterinary career in her hometown of Decatur at what is now VCA Briarcliff Animal Hospital. It was during those early years in practice that she discovered a love for teaching and mentoring others. In 2011, she joined Zoetis—the world's largest animal health company—where she spent 12 years supporting veterinary teams and helping practices implement innovative therapies that improve the lives of pets and their families.
In August 2025, Dr. Lane returned to full-time clinical practice by joining the team at VCA Braelinn Village. She is excited to be back in the hospital, working hands-on with pets and their people. She works to honor the special bond between pet and family and strives to make that bond the center of each care plan designed to help them.
