Alison Darby, Staff Veterinarian


Emergency Critical Care Department

Dr. Alison Darby grew up in Litchfield, NH. She graduated from Becker College in 1998 as a Certified Veterinary Technician and UMass Amherst in 2000. Prior to starting veterinary school she worked as a veterinary technician in emergency medicine including CAVES since 2002. Dr. Darby received her doctorate in veterinary medicine at Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2009. She then completed a post-doctoral fellowship at MIT in 2012.

Dr. Darby is a full time emergency clinician at CAVES focusing on companion animal emergency medicine. She also spends time working and volunteering at local animal shelters and providing surgical services for adoptable pets.

Dr. Darby lives on a small farm with her husband, 5 morgan horses, black labs Maddie and Molly, numerous cats, chickens, and ducks.
