Dr. Lauren Poon joined VCA in October 2025 after earning her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from UC Davis in 2023. Born and raised in Sacramento, California (Go Kings!), Dr. Poon is passionate about connecting with pets and their families to build lasting relationships rooted in trust and empathy. She strives to provide the best possible care through open communication and a compassionate approach.
Her professional interests include soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, geriatric and end-of-life care, behavior, and preventive medicine.
Outside of work, Dr. Poon enjoys painting, reading, exploring new restaurants, and playing board games. At home, she shares her life with her beloved pets—Astro (an American Eskimo), Nori (a pittie mix), Crouton (a terrier mix), Maki and Masa (domestic shorthaired cats), and Miso (a ball python).
